These images are like diary entries jotted down during numerous road trips across the south, east and mid-west of America, taking in Florida, New York, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky. I tried to capture scenes of everyday life but with undertones and textures that connote distinctive socio-cultural behaviors incorporating themes such as religious practice, patriotism, decay, endurance, urban tensions and shifting demographics. The sheer vastness between populated areas inserts itself as a dominant facet, as does the evidence and impact of human activity in the landscape.
